Cricket Fever and Mental Bankruptcy

I just could not fathom madness shown over Indian victory in Cricket by educated persons. The same is not reflected when we win in Badminton, chess, shooting, wrestling etc which are played by most developed/powerful countries like Japan, Korea, China, USA, France, Germany etc.

How can Cricket be associated with patriotism when we don't even know name of our National game? Just ask this question to a child to get the answer. If you get wrong answer then who is responsible for that.

Cracking fireworks when we win in Cricket and remain silent when we win in other games - this shows our double standard mentality.

I can understand mass hysteria of illiterate person because he is the one who follows the crowd due to insecurity/fear of criticism - and - media who are making money by creating a noise over cricket. But what about educated person who is gaining nothing (he is just a customer in this cricket market for big companies). If we really want to show patriotism then why not we do our work sincerely and honestly and able to distinguish between right and wrong.

We are totally unmoved by corruption, poverty and system failure in India and shamelessly tag Cricket win to patriotism!

Cricket is being played by only handful of underdeveloped/developing conntries. These are countries which were once a part of British empire (Ghulams). Total count is about 5% of all 200+ countries. If this is patriotism, only God can save us from our mental bankruptcy!
