Few Facts about KYC

• Know Your Customer (KYC) forms have been extended to November 30, from the earlier deadline of January 31.
• With some of the customers having duplicate and multiple connections, all the three state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) — Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited — had asked domestic LPG distributors to collect and verify duly filled KYC forms.
• Customers whose names do not appear in this transparency portal as Multiple Connection Holder or in the list available with the distributor need not, repeat need not, submit the KYC details. To check this, go to transparency portal (for this click here), enter name of gas agency and click on Multiple Connection. If your name does not appear, you need not fill KYC form.

• Give KYC details along with POI (proof of identity) and POA (proof of address) before the revised deadline to avoid any inconvenience.
• Documents for Proof Of Address (any one): 1. Ration Card 2. Electricity Bill (within Last Three Months) 3. Telephone Bill (Within Last Three Months) 4. Passport 5. Employer's Certificate 6. Flat allotment / possession letter 7. House registration papers 8. LIC policy 9. Voter’s Identity Card 10. Rent Receipt 11. PAN card issued by the Income Tax department 12. Driving License 13. Aadhaar Letter 14. Bank Passbook
• Documents for Proof Of Identity (any one): 1. PAN Card 2. Passport 3. Voters ID 4. Aadhaar letter 5. Driving License 6. Central/State Government Issued ID Cards
• Gas connections will be disconnected if it is found that there are multiple connections in the same name and address, a note said.
• All consumers are eligible for three subsidised domestic cylinders during the remaining part of the current year ending March 31, 2013. New subsidised connections will be issued after completion of the KYC formalities.
